Goldendale – Icons B

Recycling (left) Waste receptacles and recycling containers located strategically throughout downtown help to keep the street clean.  When repeated at strategic locations, this street amenity reinforces Goldendale’s commitment to taking care of its public space.

Seating (center) This strategy addresses the importance of providing places to sit down, rest, and observe what else is going on downtown.  Sitting provides an opportunity to turn public open space into social community space for minimal costs and helps enourage pedestrians and varying levels of community interaction.

Vegetation (right) Trees and other vegetation organiza, provide shade and protection, and re-introduce natural beauty to downtown.  This strategy seeks to create character and visual connecting along the length of Main Street by using vegetation to create spaces and linkages between them.
