Proposal


Initial research entailed finding historic drawings of the building.  These drawings provided information on the building’s original storefront condition.  Storefront Studio used this information to help develop a proposal for the future storefront condition.

The Chinatown Gate building is one of the first buildings that public transit users see upon arriving to the International District.  Storefront Studio is currently looking at facade enhancements so that this building begins to share a design language with the rest of the International District.

The Sun May Company has had a strong presence in the International District for a number of decades.  The Sun May Company now lives in Canton Alley.  Storefront Studio examined its current storefront and devised schematic work for a storefront change to address the historical character of the alley.
