The Snoqualmie people maintained a traditional presence at the mouth of the Raging River. A permanent village was located at this fertile fishing ground and was named Yelhw. The Snoqualmie had many other villages located along the river and its tributaries, including Toltxw in Carnation, as well as established hunting, fishing, and gathering grounds.
